Zero-Upload Print Cropper · True 300 DPI Header Export

Crop Photo for Print Sizes

Phone photos are 4:3 and DSLR files are 3:2—which means an 8×10 or 16×20 print will chop off the edges if you let the print lab auto-crop. Frame your exact crop here and export a file with real 300 DPI metadata written into the PNG (pHYs), JPEG (JFIF), or print-ready PDF.

Runs in your browser — your photos never leave your device. Exports embed true 300 DPI metadata in PNG (pHYs) and JPEG (JFIF).

Print Ratio Presets:
Source Image:3024 × 4032 px (3:4)
Cropped Output:3024 × 3780 px (4:5)
Area Retained:93.8% of photo
Effective source resolution:189 PPI at 16×20
File density metadata:300 PPI

Changing the file's DPI metadata doesn't add detail.

Why 8×10 Crops 16.7% of a 3:2 Photo

A 3:2 camera sensor would naturally print at 8×12". Fitting an 8×10" (4:5 ratio) frame requires trimming 2 inches from the long edge. Previewing the crop first protects heads, hands, and horizon lines.

Real Binary DPI Headers

Standard browser canvas.toBlob() saves at 72 or 96 DPI. Our export pipeline writes the exact 300 DPI density directly into the PNG pHYs chunk and JPEG JFIF APP0 header.
